Arahito?

[edit]

I know that "gami" is a variant form of Kami. Where does "Arahito" come from? Would it perchance be some derivation of the Pali Arahant and/or Sanskrit Arhat? Luis Dantas 00:55, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's from Japanese origin. "ara" stands for "existing" and "hito" for "person". Arhat in Japanese is 阿羅漢(arakan). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.180.177.29 (talk) 01:52, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
