Underestimated weight

[edit]

The article seems to say nothing about the aircraft being overloaded. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 00:04, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.sandford.org/gandercrash/investigations/majority_report/html/_2-7.shtml
"The weight and balance calculations performed by the crew underestimated the actual take-off weight of the aircraft at Gander by about 14,000 pounds."

http://www.sandford.org/gandercrash/investigations/majority_report/html/_2-4.shtml
"There was considerable evidence to suggest that the crew-calculated take-off weight (330,625 pounds) at Gander was less than the actual take-off weight. "

Yes. Indeed, that's why I came to this talk page, to see if anyone was discussing here the weight issue that was overlooked in the article. Captain Quirk (talk) 02:08, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Should this even be an issue?

[edit]

The majority opinion has been proven correct over the minority opinion several times by aviation experts and evidence found in crashes before and after Arrow Air 1285. So, why is there still an opinion that ice could not have had any contribution to this accident? — Preceding unsigned comment added by OscarMikeGolf (talkcontribs) 22:52, 23 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Accident report versions

I notice the article cited HTML versions at sandford.org. I found PDF copies at a different site:
