Why is the title Ajalon not Ayalon? Its a Y sound not a J sound! Jon513 13:32, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Split

[edit]

I think the article should be split into the Biblical town of Ajalon and the Valley of Ayalon, which is as much a modern location as it is Biblical, and deserves its own article. -- Ynhockey (Talk) 07:11, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This article is mostly abandoned and I don't think you will find any controveries here. Frankly I perfer editing those article - it give you free reign to make it how you see fit. If you want to split it, or edit it, or do anything to make it better (find some source besides the Jewish Encyclopedia!) go for it. Jon513 21:31, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is a possibility, however, they would both be small stubs. Eric Wester 15:09, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I was about to boldy split, but I noticed no precedent at he:עמק איילון, and I wondered if there wasn't some other organisational system in play there that we should replicate here... TewfikTalk 08:56, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think this should be split at all, it is way to small, even for the guidlines. Removing note. --MWOAP (talk) 20:52, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

revision request

[edit]

I've included two sentences from the third paragraph of the Ajalon article below for context. I think the second sentence is very confusing and should be revised for readability by someone who is familiar with the details:

These could have been the two eclipses at the beginning of Joshua's reign. The first one was a lunar eclipse, right above the Valley of Ajalon and the rugged western horizon, at the moon was still eclipsed when reaching the horizon, its middle about an hour before sunrise on December 22, 1471 BCE, with a magnitude of 1.28 or 128%.
