Harriet Harman calls Danny Alexander a 'ginger rodent'

[edit]

Why is there no mention of this high-profile incident in this article?

According to Google Trends, it is the 3rd most-reported incident in Alexander's career:

1) Lib Dem Danny Alexander appointed minister for Scotland, eg. Daily Record - May 12 2010
2) Clegg 'fixer' Danny Alexander takes over as Treasury Chief Secretary, eg. Times - May 30 2010
3) Harriet Harman calls Danny Alexander a 'ginger rodent', eg. BBC - Oct 30 2010
4) Spending review: Blundering Danny Alexander lets slips that ConDem cuts will cost almost 500,000 jobs, eg. Mirror - Oct 20 2010

I've now added this though been careful not to repeat the actual offensive insult as I don't think that's appropriate or fair on Mr Alexander. People can find further detail by clicking the link which then goes to to section of the red hair article on modern day discrimination faced by such people. It's a sensitive issue so we have to be cautious.--Shakehandsman (talk) 01:57, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nickname

[edit]

I also find it odd that the article makes no reference to his widely used nickname 'Beaker', which originates from his supposed resemblance to the Muppet character. The Beaker article makes reference to this. --Ef80 (talk) 15:37, 11 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have added this information. --Ef80 (talk) 12:15, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
