Sarah Huckabee Sanders

[edit]

Read the press releases and statements.[1] There is no mention that his departure will occur in mid-September and it was Politico who reported the story claiming insight from White House sources. He likely has already left.2601:447:4101:B820:887:21A6:651B:1591 (talk) 01:29, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Until we have a reliable source that states Sifakis has left the position, we shouldn't update related articles to say he has, even if some (who?) consider it likely. —ADavidB 02:56, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Politico article specifically stated that he was leaving and that the White House was already looking for his replacement, suggesting that he had already left. Until we have a reliable source saying that he leaves later than the Politico article, he's already gone.2601:447:4101:B820:887:21A6:651B:1591 (talk) 14:03, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That source says Sifakis "is leaving the White House". If it said he already left, we could include that he had. People commonly give notice before leaving jobs, and the amount of notice varies. It's not our purpose as editors to make assumptions. —ADavidB 15:53, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The Politico article specifically said they were already looking for his successor for weeks. He had already been notified. If he is delaying his departure, it needs to be sourced.2601:447:4101:B820:499C:2BF0:C020:BA7E (talk) 23:01, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

More assumptions. We only know that he had the role, and will be leaving, and the White House has been looking for a successor since early August. We don't know who notified whom; perhaps Sifakis gave them notice. All we know is he's on his way out and search for a replacement is ongoing. —ADavidB 00:08, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

We also now know that no such statement exists by Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/press-briefings.2601:447:4101:B820:5859:D778:E881:460 (talk) 14:28, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The White House Office which the Public Liason Office belongs to also doesn't have a section on the Executive Office's website.https://www.whitehouse.gov/administration/eop I couldn't seem to find anything like a Facebook or Twitter page for the White House Office either and it doesn't appear that Sifakis has a social media page as well. Therefore, it is impossible to say that we know he's left or didn't leave.68.47.65.239 (talk) 19:23, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, so until we have a reliable source citation that confirms a departure date, let's leave the article with notice that Sifakis is departing, and without speculation on a departure date. —ADavidB 19:40, 3 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
