He was just called up —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.173.120.130 (talk) 20:49, 6 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Updated picture of Stanton to one in new uniform, close up, in new Marlins Park. This replaced an old picture in old uniform that was shot far away. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bloggeraccountusa (talkcontribs) 19:39, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

[edit]

Mike Stanton (outfielder)Giancarlo Stanton – Per [2], he wants to go by his first name now. I figured I could move the page myself, but I'd prefer to do it this way, with consensus. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:23, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No need for discussion - Marlins already promoting his name 'change'. Blahblah32blahblah (talk) 21:12, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely support the move. MLB.com already changed his profile [3]. Penale52 (talk) 21:23, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Just being thorough. I got someone on my case about moving Wisconsin gubernatorial election, 2012 to Wisconsin gubernatorial recall election, 2012. I'll move it now with no objection. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:44, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnicity

[edit]

Is Puerto Rican an ethnicity?Eiad77 (talk) 20:23, 23 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. I've changed it to say that he is "of Puerto Rican heritage." Tad Lincoln (talk) 23:39, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Problem

[edit]

Yankees10 (talk) I have noticed a problem on this page. Can you fix it. Tylkrby767 (talk) 20:56, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. What is the problem?--Yankees10 20:57, 24 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Trade talks

[edit]

While the Yankees and Marlins have agreed to the trade, the subject still has to approve the trade before it actually becomes official.}}

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format. Indeed, he's still a Marlin until the trade is officially announced. – Muboshgu (talk) 17:42, 9 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Add the New York Yankees trade for Giancarlo Stanton and add the fact that the deal is pending his consent and the approval of his physical, because it should be noted that the Yankees attempted to trade for Giancarlo and is the team that is the closest to receiving him. Please also add the fact that the Yankees will also get $30 million in exchange for Starlin Castro and two prospects."

Not done: All attributed to unnamed sources. We wait for confirmation of a done deal. – Muboshgu (talk) 01:56, 10 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
So then why is the material about the reported canceled Cardinals and Giants trades in the article? That's also all coming from unnamed sources. The apparently completed trade to the Yankees should also go in the article (not in the lead, but under the 2017 season section), with the appropriate disclaimers about contingencies and the lack of official confirmation. SS451 (talk) 03:26, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure about the Giants, but the Cardinals did put out a pouty, passive-agressive sounding statement about Stanton opting not to become a Cardinal. – Muboshgu (talk) 18:07, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: This is already mentioned in the section on his 2016 season and is not one of the highlights that gets listed in the infobox. Spanneraol (talk) 17:56, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

USC vs. Tulane

[edit]

This source in the article says Stanton committed to Tulane. However, this and this suggest he committed to USC. It couldn't be both... – Muboshgu (talk) 22:27, 11 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion by editor

[edit]

An editor deleted from the intro the fact that as of 2018, he led the major leagues in career at bats per home run (13.75).[1] Saying that was not intro worthy. I find that subjective view to be odd. Perhaps someone else can weigh in ... how is it not intro worthy that the man has the highest active career at bats per home run mark?

Plus, it is curious that the editor just deleted it. He did not move it to a non-intro section. Strange effort to improve wikipedia.--2604:2000:E010:1100:A1C9:3376:1282:532D (talk) 18:23, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mike Stanton

[edit]

Giancarlo is not related to the former pitcher Mike Stanton. His father's name is Mike, but it's a different Mike Stanton. The two should not be linked on Wikipedia's Google Preview. Mike Stanton (the former pitcher) is shown as Giancarlo's parent on Giancarlo's Wikipedia Google Preview, and Giancarlo Stanton is shown as Mike Stanton's child on Mike Stanton's Wikipedia Google Preview. I do not know how to correct this error and am requesting assistance. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derave51 (talkcontribs) 02:54, 17 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
