Why does this article on an American person (mm-dd-yyyy) have European-style dates (dd-mm-yyyy) (recently added/edited)? I would change them but I wonder if there is some reason for this, and I am not inclined to edit wars.

(My reference--WP:DATE: "Strong national ties to a topic; Articles on topics with strong ties to a particular English-speaking country should generally use the more common date format for that nation. Years active

I'm confused about the years active.

This says her last appearance was in 2001:

This says that she continued dancing She continued dancing as she aged into her 100th year which was in 2019.
