Inaccuracies

[edit]

I'm glad to see someone finally got round to writing this article, which I was planning to do when I wrote Battle of Largs! However, it contains some inaccuracies and some mistakes. I corrected some, but will probably correct more later. The narrative surrounding the battle of Largs is inaccurate here, and is (in all modesty) better described in the article on the battle.--Barend (talk) 15:02, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. A much needed article. I have a Scottish history book I'll look into for some information, will do that tomorrow. Manxruler (talk) 22:53, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a well made article

[edit]

Hello.

1.The battle of Largs is considered a minor skirmish, both by contemporary norwegian sources and eyevitnesses, and by historians today. 2. King Haakon did NOT attack the Scots at Large. Some of his ships stranded at Largs during a storm, were they got attacked by the Scots. At the end of the "battle" both forces withdrew, and bot sides claimed victory. The "battle" ended indecisive. 3. You refer to a "Family genalogy site" as sources.

I will delete your account of the battle, unless you provide adequate sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mattamatikk (talkcontribs) 11:19, 5 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
