Remembering

[edit]

I chatted with a gentleman in Tyler, Texas last night who was aboard the Belleau Wood when she was hit by the Japanese plane. He lost 2 good friends. It was a sad "anniversary" for this man, he was tearful.....funny how grief works like that......68 years ago that happened!--Bddmagic (talk) 19:44, 30 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Which flag?

[edit]

After discussions, the advice is to use naval ensigns, not jacks - see Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships/Tables. The correct US flag has been selected by a template - see the US entry in Wikipedia:WikiProject Ships/Ensigns. Folks at 137 19:11, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About the Ship’s Name: "The Battle of Belleau Wood (France World War I)"

[edit]

Shouldn't this section be moved in it's entirety to Battle of Belleau Wood and only a link remain. It makes no sense to duplicate information and no section of this type appears on any other WWII ship section. The USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3) "Significance of the name" handles this much better.Jmauro2000 (talk) 08:17, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Concur. Just replace the section here with the section from the LHA-3 page. - BillCJ (talk) 08:55, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
