If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
![]() | If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

- To list a technical request: Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:
This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests[edit]
Uncontroversial technical requests[edit]
- Water Under the Bridge → Water Under the Bridge (Adele song) (currently a redirect instead to Water Under the Bridge (Adele song)) (move · discuss) – Per consensus at Special:Permalink/1233464251#Requested move 1 July 2024. Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 07:01, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Gotjawal Forest → Gotjawal (currently a redirect back to Gotjawal Forest) (move · discuss) – "Gotjawal" is a generic Jeju language word for the wild forest, kinda like how "the bush" is used for Australia. It shouldn't be a proper noun like the current title. This is backed up by the content of the article. There are grammar mistakes here and there in the article; I suspect the titling is a similar misunderstanding. 211.43.120.242 (talk) 07:57, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- MerryLand Quy Nhon Binh Dinh FC → Quy Nhon Binh Dinh FC (currently a redirect back to MerryLand Quy Nhon Binh Dinh FC) (move · discuss) – The club ended the sponsorship contract with MerryLand after the 2023-24 V.League 1 season ended and changed their name back to Quy Nhon Binh Dinh FC.(1) User:Thplam2004
- Template:WikiProject Country Music → Template:WikiProject Country music (currently a redirect back to Template:WikiProject Country Music) (move · discuss) – To match the title of the WP that was moved. Gonnym (talk) 08:50, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves[edit]
Contested technical requests[edit]
- Wallace and Gromit → Wallace & Gromit (currently a redirect back to Wallace and Gromit) (move · discuss) – As discussed on the talk page, the franchise is only ever referred to with an ampersand, which matches the titling of other IPs with Wikipedia articles such as Thomas & Friends, Mario & Luigi, etc. SleepDeprivedGinger (talk) 21:04, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- @SleepDeprivedGinger: This had a 2017 requested move that reached no consensus, leaned toward opposition according to the closer, and provided evidence that it isn't "only ever referred to with an ampersand". As a controversial move, this will require a new requested-move discussion. You should read that 2017 RM and consider whether to open a new RM discussion. SilverLocust 💬 21:25, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- Indonesian archipelago → Indonesian Archipelago (currently a redirect back to Indonesian archipelago) (move · discuss) – Correct the capitalization in the title Bayoka55 (talk) 07:11, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- This is not always a proper noun. Even in the article, both capitalizations are used. You'll have to start a WP:RM for this. C F A 💬 17:30, 6 July 2024 (UTC)
- ABC News (disambiguation) → ABC News (currently a redirect back to ABC News (disambiguation)) (move · discuss) – WP:MALPLACED. Can't move because "ABC News already exists. DaCrashy (T.C.) 20:57, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- We should probably hold off on taking action here until the ongoing MRV on ABC News has been resolved. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 21:20, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- MRV is still going. LilianaUwU (talk / contributions) 00:05, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Ishq Ki Dastaan - Naagmani → Ishq Ki Dastaan Naagmani (move · discuss) – disambiguation needed 2409:40E0:104E:3EF2:C88B:11FF:FED3:9D9D (talk) 09:07, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Why does this need to be moved? C F A 💬 02:55, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
- Because all the Wikipedia should be as per WP:HYPHEN. 2409:40E0:101D:BCC3:49E:DEFF:FE57:3302 (talk) 04:56, 9 July 2024 (UTC)

- Kim Ju-won (baseball) → Kim Ju-won (baseball player) (move · discuss) – Kim Ju-won is a human, not a baseball 211.43.120.242 (talk) 08:25, 9 July 2024 (UTC)
