AVC-Intra

AVC-Intra is a video coding method developed by Panasonic and was then supported in some products made by other companies. AVC-Intra is used in high definition broadcast products made by Panasonic.

In April of 2007, Panasonic announced support for AVC-Intra codec. AVC-Intra is mainly used in high end cameras used by news reporters for high quality video.

AVC-Intra obeys the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC standard and Panasonic claims to obey the SMPTE RP 2027-2007 specification. However, after the x264 project got involved, this was a lie.
