Removing image

[edit]

I am removing this image of User:Allyn covered in a plastic sheet. It is quite a stretch to call what he is wearing a 'bib'. The image would mislead anyone researching the topic and reduces the encyclopedic quality of the article. A more appropriate image would be of an infant wearing a bib, or a picture of a bib on a white background. RP Bravo 23:07, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi: I disagree with this not being a bib. I have worn this garment in public and have been told by others that this is a bib, although an unusual one. I have also been suggested to put it into Wikipedia.--Allyn 04:41, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am not reverting the edit at this time; let's see if there's any other opinion. I am putting the picture here in the talk page.--Allyn 04:41, 9 May 2007 (UTC) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Allyn (talkcontribs) 04:35, 9 May 2007 (UTC).--Allyn 04:41, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You may think of the sheet you made to be a bib. It isn't - these are bibs. Nor is a bib, as you refer to it, a garment. A garment is an item of clothing. Bibs are not clothing. I believe your objective in uploading the photo was self-promotion rather than enhancing the quality of the article, violating Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#Self-promotion. As your photo features you, not the object of the article (Bibs), it is vandalising the article if you put it back. Furthermore, I am removing the image in question from this talk page, as having here still violates the self-promotion policy. RP Bravo 07:25, 9 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Allyn is the designer of the clothes in the photo and requests commissions via his personal web site. I believe the link to the image in my original comment to be sufficient. Anyone interested in debating my decision to remove the photo from the article is able view the photo in context via the article's history, or follow the link above. Move

[edit]

This is by far the PRIMARYTOPIC of the word "bib" in the English language. It should be moved to Bib. — LlywelynII 03:59, 7 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
