Motivation
[edit]The largest e-sports wiki. According to Special:LinkSearch, Wikidata items have over 500 links to Liquipedia (set as plain URLs). Facenapalm (talk) 17:06, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Support I've been wanting to create this property for a few months. Liquipedia indeed is a well-known, well-established and up to date wiki about esports. What I'm unsure about though is should we restrict it to items that are instance of (P31) esports team (Q61974339), esport competition (Q48004378) ? And the likes for players and casters? --Poslovitch (talk) 19:52, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not sure yet. Personally, I'm planning to work on players in near future, so P31=human (Q5) is enough for me for now. But if Wikidata would ever have maps, or video game units, or whatever, liquipedia has these, too. Facenapalm (talk) 20:00, 27 May 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Can the identifiers work like Fandom article ID (P6262) somehow? In that instead of starcraft/Scarlett it is starcraft:Scarlett? It think it would need a special URL that does this. AntisocialRyan (Talk) 02:01, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
- I don't see the way to do this. What's the difference between these formats for Wikidata? Facenapalm (talk) 02:10, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
- Nothing really, it would just be consistent. Support anyway. AntisocialRyan (Talk) 15:14, 2 June 2022 (UTC)
- I think it can be done through a search request via Commons wiki (e.g. starcraft2:Scarlett), because there are all these wikis in a interwiki map. —putnik 15:08, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- This is great! Can we change it to this? @Facenapalm: AntisocialRyan (Talk) 15:48, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- I don't mind. I guess we can also use Special:GoToInterwiki on commons instead of search request. I'll change formatter URL to that. Facenapalm (talk) 15:53, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
- Great, works perfectly, hope it gets through. AntisocialRyan (Talk) 22:57, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
