Motivation
[edit]For many buildings, the construction period takes more than a year, so a period of time would have to be specified as two years (YYYY-YYYY). Yet, Wikidata does not allow to fill in this information, even though for many buildings it can provide more precise information about the construction development than simply stating the start of construction. The indication of the start of construction does not make it clear whether a building was built in one, two or more decades or even centuries. However, this information is of great importance for building research. Since the information can be used not just for a single structure, but for thousands, the property should be able to be inserted.
Bei vielen Gebäuden beträgt die Bauzeit mehr als ein Jahr, sodass eine Zeitspanne als Angabe zweier Jahreszahlen (JJJJ-JJJJ) angegeben werden müsste. Bisher lässt Wikidata diese Angabe nicht zu, auch wenn sie bei vielen Bauwerken eine genauere Angabe zur Bauentwicklung geben kann als die reine Angabe des Baubeginns. So wird aus der Angabe des Baubeginns nicht klar, ob ein Bauwerk in einem, zwei oder mehren Jahrzehnten oder gar Jahrhunderten errichtet wurde. Diese Angabe ist für die Bauforschung aber von großer Bedeutung. Da die Angabe nicht nur für ein einzelebnes Bauwerk, sondern für tausende verwendet werden kann, sollte die Property eingefügt werden können.

- Or use significant event construction (Q3875186) with start time (P580) or end time (P582). Older buildings will tend to have construction start time matching inception (P571), and while newer buildings can have a planning lag, I don't think this property is the right approach, even if it was amended to be a duration rather than a span, and allow fractions of a year, so Oppose, though it would be good to agree a consistent approach.
