NEW DELHI: Oriflame, the Swedish direct seller of consumer products, has alerted consumers from purchasing its products from e-commerce marketplaces and unauthorised physical stores and said its products are sold only through the company’s “authorised brand partners.”

Orfilame said various products sold through e-commerce platforms and brick-and-mortar outlets have been found to be fake, the company has said in a newspaper advertisement on Thursday.

“Oriflame does not sell its products through such unauthorised sales channels and does not warrant the authenticity or quality of Oriflame products sold through these unauthorised channels, including any products which are found to be counterfeit or fake,” the newspaper ad reads.

Oriflame further warned any person or entity found to be selling the Swedish company’s products through unauthorised channels will be “subjected to strict legal action.”

In 2018, Oriflame as well as rivals Amway and Modicare had filed separate cases against various parties including Flipkart, Amazon and independent sellers on those sites alleging them of illegally selling their products on the e-commerce platforms.
