Avaada Energy gets 820 MW hybrid project from SJVN
Avaada Energy announced on Monday that it has secured an 820-megawatt hybrid project from state-owned power producer SJVN. This achievement came through an e-Reverse Auction process.
The Indian government has proposed new guidelines to reduce the approval time for electricity connections for electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. The approval time in metropolitan areas will be cut from seven days to three days, and in municipal areas from 15 days to seven days. In rural areas, the time will be reduced from 30 days to 15 days. The draft guidelines also call for an online single-window clearance system for faster processing of these connections.

State-owned NHPC and energy solutions provider ENGIE have signed power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for two 200 MW solar projects. NHPC's project will be located within Gujarat State Electricity Corporation's renewable energy park at Khavda, with an estimated cost of Rs 846.66 crore and a completion period of 15 months from the PPA execution date.

According to the statement, Nxtra has become the only data centre organisation in India to have pledged to RE100 and the 14th Indian company to achieve this milestone.The company claims to have increased its renewable energy use and has contracted 422,000 MWh renewable energy till date.
The government's outlay, announced on June 19, includes Rs 6,853 crore for the installation and commissioning of 1 GW of offshore wind energy projects of 500 MW each off the coast of Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. It also has Rs 600 crore for augmentation of two ports to meet the logistics requirements for offshore wind energy projects farms and encourage developers to enter this space.
The Union Cabinet approved India's first offshore wind energy projects with a capacity of 1 GW, divided equally between Gujarat and Tamil Nadu, at a total cost of Rs 7,453 crore. Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted this as a landmark decision, emphasizing the significant opportunity it represents for India's renewable energy sector.
The panel approved the proposal of HPCL Renewable & Green Energy Ltd to set up a 48-MW wind energy project at Umerkote in Nabarangpur district, while ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd got the go-ahead to develop a 49.5-MW wind energy project in Astaranga in Puri district, the statement said.
The projects will have the ability to supply power nationwide during peak hours without disruptions. ACME, ReNew Power, Hero Future Energies and Amp Energy won parts of the tender.
