Macropods is marsupials in the faimily Macropodidae, that includes kangaroos, wallabies, tree-kangaroos, pademelons, an several ither species. Macropods bide in Australie, New Guinea, an some nearby islands.[2]

Afore European settlement o Austrailie, aboot 65 species o macropods existit. Sax species hae syne acome extinct. Anither 11 species hae been greatly reduced in nummers. Ither species (e.g. Simosthenurus, Propleopus, Macropus titan) acame extinct efter the Austrailien Aborigines arrived an afore the Europeans arrived.
